The Weights Up Some Today

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 182.2-pounds.
That's only because I snacked on a couple rolls with peanut butter and jelly, and some cheese dip.

This is a second post for today
It's 10:30 PM. I am about to retire for the evening. I just came back from the Outback Steakhouse. I will probably step up onto the scale in the morning weighing in around 184-pounds because I ate late, and consumed an 11 ounce steak, large baked potato, salad, lots of glasses of ice tea, and a large bread roll. (For those of you who read this. My time was off here. It was 10:30 PM when I wrote in the second post. I originally wrote 9:30. So it's a correction.)

We'll see.

Bye for now...

My New Tinfoil Hat Will Help Me Fight The Alien Food Broadcasts

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 180.2-pounds.

I'm holding steady here around that 180-target....

Steady...Steady...Don't get too nervous here...Don't get too confident with that extra food either.

You know how it is Mr... One slip up with that extra Chocolate Donut, and wham, there's 50 extra pounds of gelatinous, white, varicose vein filled, flapping, slurping, burbling, eye shocking, FAT rolling around on your butt, legs and stomach.

You know how it is Mr... That's right, it only takes a few slip ups there, and it's over. All that toil, and work, starving yourself to death, giving up those extra helpings of food at the holiday banquets, so you can lose a measly, stinking couple of pounds, will be wasted.

Now is not the time Mr. to eat that extra chocolate bar. No, you have to keep looking at that chocolate bar as the enemy. It's ready to seduce you into falling into love with it as the creamy milk chocolate melts in your mouth, and the rich smell and taste of chocolate fills your every waking sense with euphoria. Oh, the wonder of that rich tasting chocolate bar. Don't touch it. No, get your hands off it. Don't even look at it.

Food Log Date: -AD-28 February 2008. I just passed through the kitchen and thought I heard a voice calling me to open up the refrigerator. I resisted the urge to open the door and investigate the source. I had to discount the idea as a possible alien hoax.

Food Log: Earlier in the day I heard voices coming out of the little bags of chocolates on the shelves, in of all places the Burlington Coat Factory. What is this world coming to? Cherry Cream filled chocolates in the Burlington Coat Factory; when did that happen?

Food log: Anyway, I had to consider that there really are aliens from another world that are determined to make we people of the planet earth fat. I know I heard voices coming out of the bags of chocolate. And as I picked them up I heard them telling me, "Buy me, eat me, just one, buy me, eat me."

Food Log: I really believe there are aliens out there who have mastered implanting little telepathic people, or aliens, in the chocolate, and every piece of candy there is on the shelves in the Burlington Coat Factory.

Food Log: It's bad enough that when I go to grocery store the bags of chocolate, and the bread, and the mountains of food taunt me and harass me as I walk through the isles. But, do I have to fight myself to avoid those sumptuous, cherry cream, blueberry, filled chocolate candies in a clothing store? Is there no peace for my weakened mind?

Food Log: Day in and day out I have been waking up at night laying on my bed hearing the granola bars in the cupboard crying out to me. And my stomach is always screeching and raving to be fed. I am going insane trying to resist that food. How will I end this?

Food Log: I considered the fact that I wasn't the only one hearing the voices implanted in the chocolate candies in the store. I saw a few fat woman lingering, and staring at the chocolate bags as I walked around them and picked them up. I just wanted to see what they were.

Food Log: No, no, I couldn't, I couldn't buy that chocolate. No, "Fight that urge Mr..., " I said to myself.

Food Log: I made myself a new aluminum foil cap today. The one that I have been wearing for the last month blew off my head yesterday. I should have used hair pins to make it stay on my head.

Food Log: My new aluminum foil hat is now made with a double layer of foil. I have added extra large ear coverings. This helps to keep out the ultrasonic waves the aliens are broadcasting at high frequency. With this new design I found it is keeping out the ailien's food broadcasts. What a relief. I tested it in the kitchen today, and then went to the grocery store. Finally, I have silence.

Food Log: People look at me now as if I am an alien. But, they don't understand. I had to block those alien radio waves that get into my brain and make me want to buy bad, bad, nasty, bad, bad food, and then eat it all.

Food Log: I wish I could share with all fat people out there my new secret weapon, an aluminum foil cap. Maybe someday I could get a patent on it.

Food Log: Note to self: Purchase ear plugs to stick up my nose. It's my new experiment to help keep out those irresistable food smells. The aliens from the "Planet Junkfoodo" have developed a synthetic food smell that is now being placed into food to make it more appetizing and to draw people to the smell of food. This synthetic smell is said to be thousands of times more irresistable than the normal smells of food...

Easy does it Mr... Steady as she goes....

Bye for now...

Fast Food: Hey Watch Out There

Hello weight losing fans....

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 180.2-pounds. That's up a little from yesterday.

Well, I have now been up and over my 1,300 and 1,500 calorie limits for about five days now. Yesterday I went over 2,000 calories.

So far, I haven't seen any dramatic ticks to the up side of the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scales readings. Each day I continue to monitor it closely. Each day I continue writing down what I am eating and trying to figure out what the calorie count was.

Watch Out For Those Fast Foods
Today I was treated to McDonald's. I had a Big Mac, small French Fries, and a diet Coke. The calorie count for that Big Mac was 540 calories. Wow... The small Fries was 250 calories. This came in at a whopping 790 calories.

Earlier in the day I ate an Egg McMuffin (300) calories. In a four hour window I put away 1,090 calories.

People need to wake up to what they are eating. I am not knocking McDonalds. Nope, but look at what happens when I eat there for free. Whew...

Hey, Hey, wake up... You and I can't eat like this each day. Now, I can quit here and be fine. But, I didn't used to quit here. No, I used to go home and eat more food than this.

Most people go home and eat way more food. They do it without thinking. When I got done eating this luncheon of Fries, and a double hamburger. I was still a bit hungry.

It doesn't matter if it's McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc., fast food can be a killer. Not only does it kill the pocket book, but it adds to our obesity which eventually kills us too.

As I just wrote, these two meals were paid for, which made it more tempting to eat more than I did. I actually stopped myself from buying more than I did, and then eating more.

Put the brakes on pumping that food into that mouth. EAT LESS FOOD.

Bye for now...

And that's the way it is...I'm David Dane

Get A Laugh Out Of This Fat Video

For those of you who think that I am always serious. I got a kick out this video of Weird Al. I wish to thank Tony for turning me onto this hilarious video.

Little Tidbits Of Weight Loss Advice

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 179.8-pounds.
Hey, that's not bad.

I upped my calorie intake the last three days. I wrote that yesterday. I gave up on the 1,300 calories for now. I was just too hungry all the time.

I couldn't sleep. My stomach felt like cats were gnawing the insides and clawing me. It was too frustrating.

I wasn't making any progress. I wrote that yesterday as well. It's amazing how the body can kick itself into a mode of operation that brings down the total metabolism to a slow burn when there isn't enough food for it. I think this is what happened to me.

As I have written before in the past, I am playing this weight loss thing as I go. I don't have a hard-core set of rules that I am following.

My hard-core set of rules is just this: Eat Less Food. Again I have written that before.

I wish I could come up with a magical formula for losing weight. I wish I could come up with magical food recipes that would help you burn off those calories. Alas, I have none.

I can encourage these following ideas:
  • Stop relying on diet products. If you will notice products that are labeled diet, "Fat Free," etc., etc., are actually a little more expensive than other foods. If you can get them at a bargain price like I did some "Lean Cuisines" fine. Once in a while the "Healthy Choice" products go on sale around where I live. I will get them then.
  • Be careful relying on artificial sweeteners. I have been making a real serious attempt to wean myself off of artificial sweeteners. For myself I found that my muscles ached after drinking Diet Cokes, and Pepsi. Artificial Sweeteners can become as addicting as sugar. I found myself putting a packet in every cup of coffee that I consumed. Every glass of unsweetened tea I drank had to have a packet of artificial sweetener in it. I think this may be too much. Like everything else, moderation is the key here too.
  • Everyone that has any sense endorses consuming more water. Since we are made up of water, we need water. We need to be aware of drinking more water. Water flushes the system of toxins. Water hydrates the living body cells. Water helps cool the body in the heat, and warm up the body by convection in the cold.
Someone may complain that drinking more water increases the use of the bathroom. Yes, it does. We are supposed to eliminate. If we don't eliminate, then we have a problem. Do you see your dog worried when it urinates every ten minutes? I hate our modern society that forces us to control everything we do, and makes us worry about normal behavior. If you are older, it gets harder to control yourself. I do tightening exercises for my "you know whats."
  • Do what you can with exercise: I told my aunt that I do shallow squats to music. I do stretches where I put my feet up onto the counters. I do twists and turns for my ailing back. My body suffered some deterioration here in the last seven or eight years. I am not sure if it's because of artificial sweeteners or other factors like deteriorating arthritis. If you are bed ridden, then do arm lifts. If you are chair ridden then exercise your arms. I know it's hard. Yes, it's hard to overcome old habits and momentum of a stale life. I know. But, you have to work on you. Don't depend on anyone else. You don't have to have weights and machines to get the body moving.
  • Get yourself a food journal. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just keep a record of everything you put inside your mouth and swallow. Yes, it's a pain in the Southern-back-side, but you need to become keenly aware of what you consume. I mean you, not someone else. I have a family member who's spouse thinks it's her job to comment on everything her husband eats. She herself isn't making an effort to change her body, but she thinks it's her job to be critical of her husband. Nope, it's not her job to monitor everything her husband consumes. It's not my job, or the government's job to watch what you eat.
  • Read about nutrition. Make it a habit to educate yourself about food. I personally love cooking. So, it's no skin off my nose to read about nutrition.
  • Consume foods that are beneficial. Greens, Greens, raw greens, cooked greens are good for you. Colored foods like carrots, artichokes, garlic, apples, and on the list goes, raw and cooked are good for you. Make an effort to change yours taste to eat them. It's for you, not for mommy anymore.
  • Be aware that sugar is as addicting as narcotics. Yes, we can become dependent on sugar. I know that I was. Whew, years ago, I would drink down at least one Two-Liter-Coca-Cola. I drank Coca-Cola morning noon, and night. It's no wonder my body turned into a balloon.
  • Make an effort to balance those meals. A hamburger, and a bun, is a starch, and a protein. Potatoes are a starch. Try to eat some salad, or greens with that hamburger.
  • Educate yourself about which foods are loaded up with those calories. You can eat a bucket full of green beans because they don't have a lot of calories. But, if you eat a bucket full of potatoes, you will definately see that someday. Do you get what I mean?

I could go on with my list there. If you are like me, you are an adult. It's time for us to put away our child like behavior. Yes, I wrote child like behavior. My parents taught me when I was little they weren't always going to be there for me. I didn't like the idea, but I had to get used to it. It's not mommy's, daddy's, your wife's, or your husband's job to baby sit you. If you have a brain in your head, and the wits about you to control yourself then it's your job to baby sit you.

We have to become aware of the proper behaviors that are beneficial, and detrimental. Eating food until we are full is detrimental. I have written about this in the past.

Real true freedom is when we have the ability to make decisions or choices that influence the direction of our future. You, so far in this country, have the ability to make choices. They are being thrown at us faster than we can process them. But, no one is holding a knife to your throat and telling you to eat.

The one choice you can make is to "EAT LESS FOOD." Eat one hamburger at lunch, and skip those French Fries. Ditch that chocolate shake. Drink water. Wean yourself off the sweets, and sugars. "EAT LESS FOOD."

When I went into the army, we were standing in front of the barracks. The Drill Sergeant got up in front of us and said, "I am your momma, your daddy, your sister, and your brother. You will do what I tell you to do when I tell you to do it." Whew, that was tough to deal with.

Think about what you are doing to yourself letting yourself get bigger, and bigger.

Do you have to have someone control you? I hope not.

Bye for now...

I Am Now Going Into Maintenance Mode

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 180.8-pounds. That's up from yesterday, Sunday. I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 180-pounds.

The last couple days I made a deliberate change to up my calories from the 1,300 calories I had been consuming. I did it because I wasn't making any progress. My body has frozen in this plateau of 180-pounds. Yes, I can get a little below 180. And I definitely can sore above it. But, still, I just keep hanging around this 180-pounds.

I am just going to stay here. So, I upped my calorie count to around 2000 calories a day.

I haven't given up attempting to get to 160-pounds. Only this is just a real long drawn out battle here. To be honest, I am flat out sick of starving.

I keep waking up in the middle of the night with hunger pains, and I feel like someone who is living inside a prisoner of war camp.

So, I will keep posting as ideas pop into my little head. However, I am giving fare warning now: Don't expect to see me losing any weight soon. I am tired of the fight, and the hunger. I am now in my maintenance mode.

If you are looking for any brilliant ideas to inspire you to lose weight, check out some other things on the Internet.

Easy does it. Steady as she goes. Let's keep this weight on course here... Aye, Aye, captain.

Bye for now...

Don't Be Self Destructive

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Magical-Scale weighing in at 181.8-pounds. That's up again from yesterday.

Last night I was hungry before I went to bed. I had hit my calorie count earlier in the day. I said to myself, "You know what, I don't want another night waking up at 3:00 in the morning." I use that time to pray, and read some of my bible. It's time I use, only, I am tired when I finally wake up again.

This morning I woke up at 5:00 AM. I wanted to sleep longer.
I had that cat clawing gnawing hunger again.
I had that evening eaten three apples, a bowl of popcorn, and ate some more Gingerbread men. NO, I didn't torture them this time. I ate them though....

Dinah Soar commented yesterday. She said that she struggled with cat clawing hunger in her tummy when she was trying to lose weight before. I go around the internet and find that many people struggle with hunger.

It's hard, it really is when the "Hunger Monster" strikes.

I am going to beat this drum again. If you go back to the things I have written, you'll see I keep coming full circle to a simple concept. And, I am sure, when you read this you'll be saying well don't you have any new ideas?
There are no new ideas for losing weight. There are dumb ideas. There are ideas that are destructive. There are ideas for losing weight that can't be followed because they are so ridiculous.

I am going list some of those weird diets.
The fat loss diet. What? The experts are warning watch your fat intake. My family member has three books written by a doctor committed to avoiding fat. And then on the other side fish oil, flax seed oil, and natural oils are selling like crazy. Go figure.

The blood type diet. My cousin gave me a book called the blood type diet. I couldn't finish the book. It was so crazy. It's virtually impossible to follow. In our modern day society, it would take forever to go through the grocery store with the list of things that have to be avoided for a certain blood type.

The Fasting Diet. Yes, there is a diet out there where people are told to fast away the weight. This is really a very destructive diet. Go ask Karen Carpenter. Oh, sorry she died. OK, then ask those unbelievable skinny runway models. Do they look happy walking up and down the isles looking so thin a good strong breeze will blow them away?

There are other diets that I don't have the time to list.

It comes down to one thing. How much food are you eating? How much candy do you slip into your mouth throughout the day? How much extra food do you consume just because you feel like you like how it tastes? Do you go to those buffets where food is mass produced, and eat until you are stuffed? I don't have the answer. You'll have to figure that out for yourself.

I will say this: Is your life important to you? I don't mean in a narcissistic way. I mean in a healthy way.
Are there people close to you, who are dependant on you? I mean are there people around that if something happened to you they would feel a tremendous loss? I'll bet there are.

I never had any children. I wanted children, but it didn't work out. There are people around me though who actually enjoy my company. Oh, those are sick people. Just kidding.... That's my weird humor.

If this is so, and you are finding answers that are affirmative to my questions, then answer this question. What right do you have destroying your life? Eating too much food, and getting fat on it is destructive behavior.

I am not a doctor. I am not anyone but a fellow human being. I am here to tell you: You have no business being self destructive.

Yesterday I considered quitting writing this blog. Only I thought, "Hmmm, maybe, just maybe God will direct some lonely soul to read my blog just once. Maybe someone will be struggling and find this and say, 'Hey, I can do this weight loss thing.' "

On the side of my blog are listed some links to web sites of real humans. These people are just like you and me. They are struggling with the same issues we as humans do. Go open those links and read about them. They are friends of this blog.

Sleepless In Wheaton: The Hunger Monster Struck With A Vengeance

Hello weight losing friends...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 181.4 pounds.
That's up again over my record, and it's up 0.2 pounds from yesterday.

This was the third day in a row that I woke up in the early morning hours, and found myself trying to fall back to sleep.

I was hungry again. This is getting old, real old. It put me in a dark mood. I decided to eat some Gingerbread Man Cookies. According to the panel on the box, five cookies was 150 calories.

I took the little Gingerbread Men out of the box and decided to make them pay for my lack of sleep. I tortured my Gingerbread Men as I ate them.

I took the Gingerbread Men and stacked them in my fist. I grabbed the first Gingerbread Man and bit off his left leg: Chomp! He started screaming. Then all the Gingerbread Men Started screaming and wailing.

The Gingerbread Man in my other hand was pleading, "Please don't eat me. No, don't bite me."
I bit off the right leg: Chomp! Ah, Ah, Screamed my Gingerbread Man.

Next I bit off his left arm: Chomp! My Gingerbread Man screamed in agony. Then I bit off his right arm. Ah, Ah, Ah.... Now, I sneered at my Gingerbread Man and laughed. I said, "You sure are a tasty Gingerbread Man." Then I chomped off his head.

I followed and ate the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Gingerbread Men. Then I got to the fifth Gingerbread Man. I was surprised at his arrogance. He laughed and said, "Go ahead and eat me fatso."
I said, "What did you say Gingerbread Man?"
My Gingerbread Man laughed and said, "Go ahead fat man, bite me. You can't control yourself you slob."
I said, "Oh yeah, take this Gingerbread Man." Then I snapped off the Gingerbread Man's left leg.
He laughed sadistically and said, "Oh, oh, oh that feels good. Do it again Fatso."
My lip curled under in displeasure, and my eyes squinted. And I said, "Is that so?"
I snapped off the Gingerbread Man's right leg. Again he laughed sadistically.
Then the Gingerbread Man said, "Hey Mr. Fatso, you missed something. Bite me right here." "Then he laughed again and said, "Go ahead bite me, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha."
I was furious at my Gingerbread Man Cookie. I snapped off his left arm. Then He laughed and said, "Oh, that feels good. Is that the best you can do fat man? Huh, go ahead why not bite me?"
Then my Gingerbread Man said, "If you eat me, you'll see me on that fat belly."
Then he started chanting, "Eat me, Bite me, Eat me, Bite me, Fat Man."

I took my Gingerbread Man into the bathroom and threatened to throw him into the toilet. He laughed and said, "Oh, go ahead fatso, I'd rather swim with the fish anyway, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha."
I threw him in the toilet and flushed him down.

Ya Know, there wasn't something right about that Gingerbread Man. I can't eat a Gingerbread Man that isn't screaming in fear and anguish when I chomp on him. It just ain't normal.

I'm Fighting Night Time Hunger

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 181.2-pounds.
That's up over that 180-target again.

This morning I awoke at around 4 AM. I could not sleep. I was trying to fall back to sleep. I was hungry. I mean I had real physical hunger. I had to repeat the process as I did the night before, get out of bed, and then eat something.

This isn't a compulsive hunger as in I have this urge to satisfy some psychological need. Nope, it's cat's clawing at the inside of my tummy kind of hunger. I have no way to fix it.

People send suggestions. I have read stuff on the internet. Nothing solves the problem. I am trying to sleep at night, something wakes me up, then I have to fight gnawing hunger. It's discouraging for sure.

I have to keep remembering how far I have come so far, and then continue to push on.

Holding Steady Around 180-Pounds

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 179.4-pounds.
That's back under the 180-pound target, but for how long?

Yesterday I went to the vitamin store and purchased more protein powder. I was running out of protein powder.

Now, you may ask, why am I so fanatical about using protein? It's because of several reasons. It's convenient, I just put the powder in cold water and drink it. It's measured, I know how much protein I am consuming. It's necessary, according to the government, we are supposed to consume a minimum of 60 grams of protein per day. According to another source, we should consume a minimum of 1 gram protein for each kilogram of body mass. (What's mass?)

I ought to consume about 80 grams of protein per day. I am now attempting to do that.

It's not cheap to buy protein. Since I am committed to consuming so much protein powder, I purchase it in 10 pound bags. This is anywhere from 56-70 dollars per bag. It's about 1-2 dollars a day to consume protein powder.

This may seem costly. When you consider what it costs to buy a hamburger at some fast food restaraunt, this is cheap. When I eat that hamburger, I don't get nearly the protein that I do from two scoops of protein powder.

You need to see what it costs to eat per day. Again, that will mean keeping a record what you eat. You may have to look at the receipts and divide out the costs per portion of food.

Here is an example: Yesterday I went and purchased whole wheat bread, a two pound container of peanut butter, and two jars of strawberry (It was a two for one bottle transaction there).

I calculated out that a 32 gram serving of peanut butter was about 16 cents per serving. I calculated that each slice of bread was 16 cents per slice. I calculated the jelly was 8 cents a serving. I made two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for less than a dollar.

Those two sandwiches satisfied my hunger. It was a yummy snack. It wasn't any less healthy than eating a McDonald's hamberger.

Contrast this cost for two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with what I purchased earlier. I purchased and egg, bacon and cheese biscuit, hash brown, and coffee for almost 6 dollars earlier in the day. What a difference.

The calorie count was about the same in the end for both meals too. It may not be convenient to go to the grocery store, but it is more cost effective. I also have a two pound bottle of peanut butter left over, a loaf of bread, and jelly. This means more meals in the future.

I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It's easy for me to keep consuming those. I know people who aren't fond of peanut butter. I can't imagine that not liking peanut butter.

It makes sense to take some time to prepare your food. I like McDonald's. I know many of the people who run their corporation. I like a lot of fast foods, like Wendy's.

I don't have money to pour down the drain. It's more economical for me to prepare my food ahead of time. I carry boiled eggs with me. Yes, the cost of eggs is up. But, compare that to the cost of a McDonald's egg sandwich. I get a dozen eggs for less than the cost of that sandwich.

I love to sit and chit chat with friends in a restaraunt. But, for the cost of a meal, I can buy two days of food that I can prepare for myself.

I have a friend that I was treating to lunch each week. I enjoy the chit chat. But, I don't enjoy paying the bill. My friend isn't out anything for the meal. I am. It's cheaper being by myself, and then enjoying my own company.

Still Around 180-Pounds

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 180.4-pounds.
That's down from yesterday, but still up over the record.

This is getting old.

This morning I set my clock to get up at 5:45 AM. Something woke me at around 1:00 AM. I tried to go back to sleep for over an hour. Finally I couldn't take the hunger anymore. I had to get up and eat something. I ate a few gingerbread cookies, and a couple graham crackers.

It's like that sometimes. When I wake up and cannot sleep. Usually I just drink some tea with honey, but that didn't work this time. So, I decided to eat something. As a result, I am over my calorie count for the day.

Still Floating Around That 180-Pounds Target

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 182-pounds.
That's up almost three pounds from yesterday.

Don't ask me why. I don't have the answer. It could be what I have been writing all along.
But, I think I have stirred that topic enough. It's beginning to stink.

So, how long will it take for me to get down to 160-pounds? Ummm, I don't know.

I have been pretty careful with my food consumption on most days. There have been some where I went over my calories. But I think I have had four of those during the last two weeks.

We will just have to wait and see, won't we?

Obesity And Cancer, Could There Be A Link?

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178-pounds.
Didn't I tell you that it was stuff waiting to leave?

So how did I blast out 7-pounds of brown stuff?
In the middle of the day I drank down a tall glass of water with one scoop of colon cleaner, and two scoops of Metamuscil mixed in. Three hours later I reaped the process of a large glass of water, one scoop of colon cleaner, and two scoops of Metamuscil.

This of course was over and above the recommended amounts on the containers. It did get the job done. Need I say more?

Again, this is a ookey topic. I don't like it either. Only the reality is we have problems getting off those extra pounds. I do, and maybe you do too. It's naive to think I can ignore some things. I am writing my experiences for someone out there who is in "The Battle Of The Bulge"

Years ago I read about John Wayne the famous actor. The article mentioned when he was autopsied after his death there was over 20-pounds of fecal in his intestines.

Folks that's too much poop. Hey, if you aren't moving out the brown stuff ever time you eat a meal, then there is a problem. You don't want that brown stuff sitting in your intestines smelling up the joint.

I wasn't moving like I should. So, I had to do the unthinkable. I blasted the stuff out. Now, everything is moving normally. I'm Sooooooo sorry that I had to share this with you.

I am back at just over my record for weight loss in this season.

My Friend Send Me An Article Cancer, And Obesity
Obesity Raises Cancer Risk
"FRIDAY, Feb. 15 (HealthDay News) -- The more weight you carry on your body, the greater your odds of developing cancer, British researchers report."

You can read the rest of the article if you like.

My thoughts are these: There are other risks that come into play from being obese. We the preponderants are surely wrecking our quality of life.

Let's assume God hasn't ordained today, or the next few weeks to go home. I mean die. If this is so, then what ought we do for "ourselves" to improve the quality of our lives?

Should we smoke cigarettes until we smell like a walking chimney? No!
Should we drink alcohol until we are so addicted that we need a drink before noon time? No!
Should we eat everything that we can eat? No!

We have an obligation to ourselves to strive to keep those pounds off. It's for no other reason than to improve the quality of life for "ourselves." It's the "ME" in the formula.

When I decided to write this blog, I had to think about what will get people thinking. I don't know.

How about this? I am a human being like you. I have the darndest, whacky stuff happen to me. I could write a book about my misfortunes. I have had nature turn on me. I have equipment fail on me. I have had friends who should know better put knives solidly in my back to wreck my employment.

Here is the thing. I turn hard into the Creator of the Universe. You need to turn hard into him as well. Push against the gates of heaven and demand an answer for you troubles.

If your weight is an issue, like mine, then storm heaven for relieve. I did, and here I am. I have other things as well. But, this one, being so overweight that I couldn't move, was a big one.

I Lost Four-Pounds Over Night... I Wonder Why?

Hello weight losing fans...

Greetings from Portage, Wisconsin. Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital Scale weighing in at 180.4-pounds. That's down 4-pounds from yesterday.

What happened? I told you that it was stuff waiting to leave. I may have gained maybe one pound this week. Maybe...

I will probably come in under 180-pounds tomorrow. The reason I know that is because I just had some very unexpected exercise.

We shall see tomorrow.

I wrote something yesterday that may have freaked some people out. It was about a normal body function. I am not trying to be a gross-nic.

I am always amazed when I read other peoples blogs, how they are able to keep at that one weight they set within one pound or so. I guess I am not so lucky. My weight goes all over the charts. It does it for different reasons.

Yours will too. The trick is trying to figure out what caused the extra poundage.

I was watching wrestling yesterday on You Tube. There were two guys wrestling in a College tournament that was being televised and recorded. The narrator said that one young man had to lose 11-pounds in less than a week to get into the tournament. His reason, "I guess the kid was retaining fluids." Now, that's just a paraphrase, and close to what was said.

You get what I am writing. There are many reasons your weight will go up, and down. Since my blog isn't meant to be pornographic, and discusting, I will leave all the possibilities up to your imaginations.

Bye for now...

I've Come A Long Way Baby

Hello weight losing fans...

Are you ready for this one? Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital Scale weighing in at 184.8-pounds(83.824 Kilograms Body Mass). I know you're surprised.

I told you it's stuff waiting to leave. For the last three days I have been at a family members house. There I have eaten well. I have had a few more carbohydrates per meal than I usually eat, I have had many cans of diet soda, and I have had chocolates, and cookies. Oops. I am such a bad boy.

Even so, I am not convinced that this is all fat. I came home and I have already gone below 184-pounds. So, I am retaining fluids because of the diet soda, and the high sodium content in it. Also, I haven't eliminated other wastes like I should.

I came home and before I came out to post I decided that I was going to have to do some internal blasting here. The pipes are plugged up. So I took some colon cleaner, and I am waiting to see what that does.

I drink protein powder. One of the draw backs of drinking so much protein powder is I back up. Everything comes to a halt for some reason. So, I have to blast it out.

This might happen to you too. If you are trying to lose weight, and you reduce down what you normally eat, and take protein powder as I am recommending, then you too might get backed up.

This is only stuff waiting to make its way out.

Have I had some extra pieces of chocolate? Yes, I have. Late last night I was sitting looking at some stuff on the Internet. Earlier I had seen a bag of dove chocolates sitting on the couch. I ate the remaining pieces in the bag. When I wanted a diet soda, I opened the refrigerator, and there was a bag of "Weight Watchers Coconut Chocolates" there. I took out two pieces of those and ate them. Each of the little "Weight Watchers coconut chocolates" was 50 calories. Hmmmm? It seems to me, even if it's "Weight Watchers" it still is packed with calories.

I am not discouraged by all this. First I know from where I came. I have on my waist a belt that is eleven inches longer than I need. It's because it's the same belt I wore when I was at a 46 inch waist line. I have sitting on my give away pile of clothes five pairs of bluejeans that are way to large to wear anymore. I have three pairs of pants in the closet that still have the tags on them and they are too large as well. So, I have come a long way baby.

I know where I am going to go to. I know that I am going to make it to 160-pounds. This is in spite of all my critics who think I should stay at this weight.

Today I Helped An Old Lady Up The Stairs
Today Some old woman needed help up the stairs where I live. I grabbed her cart and ran up the stairs and waited for her to make her way up the stairs. She didn't want me to help her up the stairs. Last year I wouldn't have had the energy for that. I would have huffed and puffed up the stairs myself. I have come a long way.

I am not discouraged by a temporary turn around. I am not discouraged that this morning I didn't wake up weighing in at 175-pounds (79.379-Kilograms body mass).
Eventually I will get there. It just takes time.

How about you? Are you making any attempts to lose weight, or body mass? Ugh, I hate having to include the kilograms. I just don't know who is going to read this blog, and only thinks using the metric system.

If you have to lose weight in pounds, or mass in Kilograms, you too are going to experience the ups and downs. You are going to see your weight take bigs leaps up. And there will be times when you won't seem to lose anything at all.

Don't give up, and don't give in. You are on the same planet we all are on. We all have things we struggle with. If you are like me, and you are bigger than you ought to be, don't give up, and don't give in.

Someone commented this was a gross topic today. I am not a ghoul that revels in what's gross. We are human, and being human we have deal with the gross. I expect people have common sense.

Bye for now...

And that's the way it is...I'm David Dane.

You Can Exercise, But, You Still Have To Contol What You Eat

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 182.6-pounds. I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital Scale at a body mass of 82.826-Kilograms.

Last night I went overboard. It's stuff waiting to make it's way out, that's all.

Now, you can see the weight can jump quickly up into the wrong direction. What causes that? Many things can cause it. It could be water retention. The last couple days I have drank diet soda, which I think aides in fluid retention. It could be backed up plumbing. In other words the body has not eliminated waste products.

It could be fat. And then again it could be muscle.

What, how can it be muscle? One of the things that I don't write about is how I exercise. I don't have a gym. It's cold as can be outside, and there is ice everywhere. So, I am not going to be out hitting the dusty trails.

I have been exercising. Yes, I put the radio on an FM music station that has some music with a beat, then I do shallow squats until absolute exhaustion. I do exercises without weights. I do stretches and twists. Then I do exercises like pushing hard against an unmovable wall. I just don't boast about it.

I have been upping the protein powder, and the protein from meat, and eggs. Last night I ate a large amount of chicken. It still didn't make it out the back door.

So, is it muscle, or is it fat? I think it could be either. I suspect it's fluid retention because of diet soda, and because of a backed up sewer system.

I am on top of it though. I am using a high fiber product. I take my vitamins. I try to do what I can.

More People Are Telling Me Don't Lose More Weight
Two more people this week have told me that my face looks too lean. One woman said my jaw line is too narrow. Another person said my face looks tired, and drawn.

I protest and tell them that I still have fat around my middle. I am told well exercise and trim it off. You know, these people don't exercise themselves. I can tell by looking at them.

Here is the dynamics of fat. Fat is stored energy. The body uses fat to cushion organs. The body uses fat in the brain for cushioning. We have to have fat. Woman store fat in different parts of the body because they are designed to have children. When that baby is inside, it becomes one more thing the womans body will feed. So, whens she gets hungry the body has fat in storage to draw out energy.

Fat is made up from chains of sugar. The body assembles and disassembles these chains of sugar when the need arises. When the body is overloaded with insulin, and it doesn't need that energy it turns to fat. When the body is famished it takes the fat as energy. It also takes muscle too.

The body has to break down the fat and turn it back to energy. If I exercise to get off the fat, the body will take fat from anywhere it wants. I can't point at my stomach and say only take the fat from here. No, my body will take the fat from where it wants to.

Well, what about spot reduction with twists, etc. That only conditions the underlying muscle. I can add muscle to the underlying structures. But, as far as the fat goes on the surface, it will stay there until it's burned off. This means using up calories.

I have a friend who treads mills, and runs, and weight lifts. He has exercised for years, and years, and years. He is fat. It's only because he overeats. His body stores the fat that he doesn't burn off. Even though he exercises, he is still fat. I have watched him eat. It's no wonder he's fat.

Exercise can build muscle. Exercise can condition muscle. Exercise can add to the fat burning process. That's because the body needs energy under physical exertion.

If you want to lose fat, you will have to eat less food. Eat more protein, eat those greens vegetables. Understand that eating a lot of sugar just opens the door to food cravings and poor nutrition. OK, and I am not perfect there either. So, there.

I am not saying you can't have cookies. Goodness gracious you should see how many Christmas Cookies I ate this year. But, many times, those cookies were my breakfast, or my lunch. That was all I would allow myself.

There has to be a compromise. There has to be a trade off. You can have that granola bar, but then you may have to skip eating that biscuit.

You should eat apples and fruit if you have a sweet tooth. I know, I know, chocolate chip cookies can be addicting. I know. You don't have to tell me.

I am not telling you it's easy. I am not saying you won't have days when you crash land. I am saying you have to start adapting. That is because you are entering into an eternal war zone. You are going to fighting "The Battle Of The Bulge."
If you are like me, that battle will never end.
When I hit that 160-pound target (72.575-Kilograms of mass),I will have to remain ever vigilante.

By the way, Jerrod the kid who lost ten pounds eating subway sub sandwiches is celebrating 10 years today keeping his weight normal.

Good Luck to you.

Good Bye for now...

Are You Going To Be A Big Loser? I Mean Weight / Body Mass

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital Scale weighing in at 179.4-pounds. That's 81.375 Kilograms body mass. I am up from yesterday, and just below that 180-target.
This is only because I had a meal last night, and some cookies. (Hypocrite...) It' only stuff waiting to leave.

Last night I came and visited a family member. This family member wishes she could get off her extra poundage. She has a problem. She can't leave the snacks alone.

As I was typing on her computer last night, she walked into the room with an unopened package of chocolate chip cookies. She sat down with the cookies in her lap and proceeded to open the package.

I had my food log with me and realized that I had about 300 calories to spare. So, I indulged in some of those chocolate chip cookies. She did more than indulge, she consumed one side of the package.

Each cookie was 60 calories. She had about 10 or more before she closed the bag.

I have a question. How many times have we done this? How many times have we thoughlessly consumed food? Then when we see our bloated stomachs, and our fat fannies we wish it was different.

When I decided to lose weight I decided that I was going to have to give up the need to eat something sweet anytime I had an urge. I had to decide when I finish a meal, I am not going to have a dessert. Now, I have had cookies along the way. Only, I look at my log and ask myself, should I eat this?

If you are going loss weight, and you are serious, then it's time to develope a sense of caution when eating. You wouldn't deliberately drink down poison, would you? Well, would you let someone glue you into a wheel chair for the rest of your adult life? Would you wish to be purchasing expensive drugs for the rest of your life, like high blood pressure medicine, diabetes medication, etc. ?

You will get these problems and more if you don't start to excercise caution while eating. Oh, you will feel a sense of self consciousness when you do. You'll feel deprived when you do. I did.

I keep writing over and over, and over, and over: EAT LESS FOOD. We over eat. We stress out our physical system with too much food. We jack up our insulin levels with sweets, and carbohydrates, until it effects everything our body does. Then we wonder why we get sick.

We eat the wrong kind of food too. I am not knocking sugar per say, but how many cans of Coca Cola do you really need in one day? How many cookies will you eat until you are satisfied? How much do we need to satisfy our food cravings?

Did you ever think you eat too much? Did you ever really look at the kind of food you consume? Did you ever wonder about your contribution to your obesity?

Did you ever wonder what it might be like if you got down to a resonable size? Do you ever wonder?

I am not into the power of positive thinking crowd. I am not into the gung-ho we're going to tackle it crowd. Here is why. These type of people are usually obcessed with what they want, more than anyone else around them. I know, I have worked with them.

I am into trying to find a way to fix a problem. Being overweight is a problem. And, if you are honest with yourself, you will have to admit it too.

Actions Cause A Reaction
Your actions cause a reaction. To much food in the system causes the body to react. When you eat, it starts pumping digestive juices to digest food. It starts pumping chemicals for food digestion and food processing. It starts kicking in enzymes and hormones, and all kinds of things so you can process that food and get it to the cells.

When it's done processing it has to eliminate that waste product. If you ate a lot of food and you don't eliminate regularly, the food sits inside the intestines. It rots inside you as it waits to find it's way out.
That rotting mess of food sits inside the very organs designed to absorb nutrients and minerals.
What do you think gets absorbed if there isn't fresh waste for your body to process? Yes it's the old crap.

Did you ever think about your insulin levels. Are you aware that to much insulin in the body for too long causes the body to malfunction. Insulin is used to change sugar into a usable source of energy in the cells. If there is too much insulin, then that means the body is over loaded.

Eating sugary foods, like cake, candy, and carbohydrates keeps the body continuosly pumping insulin into the body. Small amounts of insulin are what the body needs. It can't handle large loads of insulin.

The body has to have a break too. Like anything else we can wear ourselves out. If we are constantly pumping food into our bodies, we don't give the body a break. I wrote should we graze? Yes, I think we can graze. When we graze I mean nibble. I mean only eating a predetermined calorie count as well.

If you are struggling with your weight, like I was, then you are the one who has to make the necessary changes. It has to be something you do for yourself.

Finding the motivation you need to get off the pounds will depend on how strong you believe in a better future being thinner.

I am not writing all your problems will go away. Hilary Clinton, Barak Hussein Obama will still be out there. I can't help you there. The war in Iraq will still be there. Your boss will still be there.

I can write this. Quit filling your mouth up until you are brimming over with food.

In the end you are going to have to do a personal internal audit. You have to ask yourself do I even care enought to try to get this weight off.

Biggest Loser Busts Peoples Butts
I was talking to a woman who likes to watch the biggest loser for entertainment. I was kidding and said, "maybe I should gain 100 pounds and then go on the show. I said I would lose all the weight and then become rich and famous." This woman snapped back, "oh the woman trainers would kick my butt." Really?

I never saw a complete episode of the biggest loser. I watched part of one episode where they were weighing the preponderants. I felt sorry for them.

I couldn't figure out why people are entertained by a bunch of people who are fat, and are getting psychologially abused by a bunch of narcistsic jerks. That's entertainment?

People can't do something more constructive with their time? Hey how about learning to play an instrument? I'm learning to play the quitar. How about learning some Spanish? How about doing something more fun than watching a reality show?

I don't have TV at home. I don't make a lot of money to waste on cable or satelitte. I don't have the time because I am gone a lot. It's not worth it to me.

But, what about the biggest loser? Are you one of them? Do you have to have someone abuse you so you will finally do what it takes to lose weight?

And so what if the whole world sees? What is it going to be for you? How will you be better off? Think about it. Do it for yourself, not anyone else.

Bye for now....

A Real Person, Who Lost Real Weight / Body Mass

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178.6-pounds. Oops, thats 81.012-kilograms-body-mass. Phew it's hard to get used to the global economy. I keep forgetting I am in America.

This is now five days consecutively below that 180-pound target. Oops, I forgot it's supposed to be 81.647-kilograms-body-mass.

Now for you Americans who aren't used to the Metric System of calculating, I will continue to list for a while in pounds. Come on get with it, we're supposed to be a part of the global economy. Get with it all you weaklings. It's survival of the fittest.

Hey, don't look at pounds any more, those don't fit the system. It's Kilograms of body mass, don't you get it? Just kidding you... Oh come on...

I Am A Real Person
This morning I was thinking about what I would post today. I was also wondering who reads what I am writing?

Early on in my posting of this blog a woman from Australia contacted me. So far, this is the only woman from around the world I know of who has read my blog and then made a comment.

But, I am wondering, is someone from Great Britain reading this blog? Is someone else from Australia reading this blog? Has anyone who knew me in the past dared to Google my name: David Dane? How about some of the people who I had a brief time befriending, do they ever wonder what happened to me? Oh, I am such a Narcissistic Jerk.
I wonder.

When I started writing this blog, I was very reluctant to. I had a friend who was after me for four months. He kept at me to write on the Internet. Finally I gave in.

My first thoughts were, "What in the world can I write about?" Well, I thought that I would start writing about my weight loss. My hope was that someone somewhere would read what I was writing and then get inspired to lose weight.

Now, on the left of this blog is a list of archived posts that I have written. I am now over 300 posts. I have been at this blog since April of 2007.

I am writing, and telling you I am a real live human being. I was overweight. I had to figure out how to lose this weight, and lose it without killing myself. I stumbled along. I grunted and groaned as my body which seemed to be possessed by the Hunger Monster began it's fight to resist my efforts.

Why would I write this? Aren't we tired of the people who dump their emotions out onto the Internet and over the TV? I am. Tell me something, do you want to continue to drag your fanny up the stairs? For you British out there: Are you tired of dragging your bum up the stairs? Are you tired of huffing and puffing? I was. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I now know how to get the weight off and keep it off. It wasn't easy. It's, "The Battle Of The Bulge." This is what we are fighting.

Let me make this easy for you. EAT LESS FOOD is my mantra.
How? Well, look at the archives. Read some of the things that I have been writing.

I have to get going because I am running out of time. Maybe I will continue later.

Are You Eating Enough Protein?

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 177.2-pounds.
Oops, I should write 80.37-kilograms. That's 8037-grams-body-mass.

I am at my weight loss record for this weight loss season. I am at a different record for this weight loss season. This is my forth day below the 180-target. Oops, it should be my 72.57-kilogram target.

Are The Weight Loss Gurus Missing The Point?
Yesterday I wrote in my post that my body fat percentage is changing.

I went back and looked at my records and realized that I wasn't consuming enough protein during this weight loss season.

How do I know? I looked up the recommended daily amount of protein. According to the source I checked, it's recommended that an adult should consume 60 grams of protein each day.
Actually it works out to more than that because my source wrote it should be one gram for every kilogram of body weight. No more pounds. It's all kilograms, and grams.

I should be eating 80 grams of protein a day.

I am including an article that explains what happens when we don't get enough protein. Click on the Harvard School Protein Article.

I have been writing all along don't kill yourself trying to lose weight. I am critical of people who think it's OK to fast off those pounds.
I am critical of people who think that the way to lose weight is by eating nothing but salads.
I am critical of people who don't think through the weight losing process.

I can't get into your head. I can say that this study supports what I am saying. People need to get a balance of protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals.

When I embarked on this weight loss season for a while there I was way, way too low for my actual physical needs. I did blunder into a weight loss solution. I figured out that EATING LESS FOOD is the proper way to lose weight. However, I still had to figure out how many calories I had to consume. I was also well aware of the fact that I needed more protein.

Protein is essential for the body to function properly. If you don't consume enough protein on a reduced calorie intake of food, then the body will get what it needs from the muscle tissue.

This could mean serious trouble for the heart, and muscle tissues.

For years we have seen it advertised on TV, on the radio, and in magazines that we need to eat a reduced fat diet. Everyone was concerned that fat was the cause of people getting ill health. Well, the birds are coming home to roost, and the truth is being discovered.

When people reduced the fat, they ended up avoiding many of the sources that produce fat. In return they avoided the sources that provided the necessary sources of protein. In effect more people may have been hurt more from not eating meat than if they had eaten meat.

Doctor Atkins had been preaching all along the importance of protein. Now, it's being discovered after his death that he was right all along. Click on the link to Doctor Atkins's Web Site

I am not saying you have to turn into a complete Atkins follower. I did the Doctor Atkins's diet. (Mind you he was a certified Medical Doctor.) I lost 60-pounds. With this diet I got plenty of protein. I got sick of doing the lifestyle.

I advocate a combination of Doctor Atkins's diet, and at the same time reducing down calories. But, no one who is human can continue living on a high protein diet. We humans crave more than just meat. For instance, I just love to eat Ginger Bread Cookies.

So, what will work? EAT LESS FOOD works. Make sure you eat lots of green vegetables, and that protein. It could be chicken, fish, or even the oh so scandalous red meat. Purchase and consume a vitamin supplement.

According to the government the minimum daily consumption of protein for an adult is around 60 grams. Did you know that an egg is only 10% of the daily amount of protein the government recommends?

So, let me get this straight. Everyone is worried about too much fat, but they never considered the damage people were causing themselves because they didn't consume enough protein.

It makes me wonder, have the health Gurus been wrong along? How many people have died because of heart disease caused not from too much fat, but in fact they didn't consume enough protein? I wonder.

I had to warn a family member about this. She has been complaining about being tired all the time. She has been in a weight loss group most of her adult life. Every time she went to weigh in the day before she would cheat and not eat any food at all. She did this for years. Now, she has put on more pounds than she should have. Her muscle is gone, and her skin hangs.

What would she be like if she had consumed protein like she should have? I have been telling her to drink her protein powder. I have been getting onto her about eating properly. She has to quit fasting to meet those weight loss goals too.

It's a good idea to start looking at the food panels on packaged food to figure out the protein content.

I am not worried about fat grams. Here is why. I have lost weight. I am down 60-pounds. My cholesterol has dropped through the floor. It went down 40 points. My heart rate has dropped to a resting rate of around 60 beats per minute. Gee... and I have Christmas Cookies, and candy bars along the way. Imagine that.

I now look at the panels for calories, and for the protein content. I am now recording the protein content. This is so I can make sure I am consuming enough protein. As of yet, I am not worried about those fat grams. Perhaps I will find I am wrong there too.

If I am wrong, how can anyone explain my cholesterol going down? Hmmm....could it be the calories count?

I'll See You At The Fat Farm

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto that Magical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178-pounds.
This is three days consecutively I have been below that 180-target.
This is a record for this weight loss season because I have only had two consecutive days where I have stayed below that 180-target. The rest of the time I have been up, and down around that 180-target.

I am still scratching my head. My Body Fat Percentage is still going up. Yep, it was at 25% this morning.

I have a scale that I call the Magical-Mystical-Digital Scale. I purchased this scale for three reasons. It was on sale for ten dollars off. It was a digital scale with big readable numbers. It had a nifty feature in that it could display body fat percentages, which as of late have me perplexed.

This Magical-Mystical-Digital scale has two metal plates. When I stand on this little machine it screams ouch get off... no, no, just kidding. When I stand on this scale it sends an electronic pulse through my one foot which races up through my body down to the other foot.
Somehow the scale calculates my body fat from there. (Something in the instructions says something about algorithms...whatever...)

This is why I call it a Magical-Mystical-Digital Scale.

Lately, when I stand on it I have been mystified. I keep seeing the body fat percentage (Body Fat Index >BFI) going up, and up. My weight has been creeping down, slowly, but that BFI, is not. For a while there my BFI was going down along with my weight.
Hmmm?

I never really gave much thought to my BFI. Sometimes I recorded it, and most of the times I didn't. I know when I started this weight lose season my BFI was at around 37%., and then it got down to 20%-21%; when I hit 180-pounds.

By the way, I was considered obese, because I started this weight lose season at around 240-pounds. Go to the archives and see I have written that I have been higher than 240-pounds.

Back to my BFI... So, I am wondering what's going on? I am losing weight. OK... What am I losing, muscle, or fat? If my Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale is telling me the truth, then I have a problem. (Oh, this time I just wish it would lie to me, as much as so many people do.) My muscle is burning off.

Yes, it's the one thing every fitness nut dreads, the body is going after the muscle. Why am I concerned? Well, my heart is made of muscle. Much of my involuntary movements, like digestion, and swallowing, and breathing are in compliance with the movement of muscle.
When the muscle disappears, then the body can't move, and function.
This is why I warn people over, and over, and over: "Don't Fast off that weight. Don't starve off that fat. You'll kill yourself."

When I decided to lose weight, I wasn't really sure that I was going to be successful this time. I had been doing the Atkins's diet. I lost 60-pounds doing that. This time, the Atkins's diet didn't take. Yep, my body said, "Nope, this won't work this time dude. You're gonna have to find a different way to get off these pounds." My body kicked into reverse and started adding back the poundage. It didn't matter how carefully I stuck to the Atkins's diet. I could eat nothing but meat, and eggs all day long, and the pounds kept adding.

When I decided to lose weight, I couldn't tell my body which part it was going to consume for fat either. My legs got skinny first, then my neck, then my arms, and finally my middle started. This is my problem area.

Excercise would have helped to tone, and to shape my body. In the end it's up to the body and it's normal functions to figure out how it's going to burn up the extra energy called fat.

This is what has me concerned. I know the body goes after muscle before fat. You should too. This is why I drink the protein powders. This is why I still make sure I consume meat.

The human body needs Amino Acids. It takes those Amino Acids from the protein we consume, or it takes it from the muscle in your body. Yes, it even goes after vital muscle such as the heart muscle.

Karen Carpenter died from heart failure because her heart muscle couldn't function anymore. I am sure other functions shut down as well. She starved herself to death.

I have to end this commentary for today. I am going to end it here with these last thoughts:
If you decide you need to lose weight, be sensible about it. Eat proteins like chicken, and other meats, or find a good vegetable substitute. You can even purchase protein powders. I consume protein powders, and I eat meat.
Make sure you are eating a variety of vegetables. Yes you can eat large salads. Don't be foolish and think that's all you need to live on.
You can eat that donut for breakfast. But remember, that's all you get until lunch. And, don't think you can continue eating donuts everyday, and then ignore all the other foods vital to your survival.

Finally: it sucks trying to lose weight. I have had to give up so much to do it. I have had to quit eating big pizzas, bags of Oreo Cookies, two and three donuts for breakfast, and even my beer and wine. Yep, I have had to bite the bullet consuming alcohol. Argh...

Here is the difference between me, and the other weight loss gurus: I didn't like doing this. I didn't wake up on a bright early morning, slide off the bed, stretch out my arms smiling and say, "Oh, I am going to lose some weight today. Let's set some positive mental goals."

No, I pissed and moaned through the whole process. My body kicked the day-lights out of me. I got incredible hunger, I got headaches, and dizzy. I had to deal with my mood swings as my body faced rejection. Yes, the body hates giving up it's precious food.

You will have to sacrifice all the delicious wonderful food you have gotten so accustomed to consuming on a whim. Those days will be gone forever. Sorry about that...

Oh, you don't have to. Well, I'll see you at the government sponsored fat farm. I'll sit and play chess with you through the fence. Maybe they'll let me visit you on the inside.
Oh, come on...Don't whine to much, you can lick your fingers for more flavor.

Bye for now...

And that's the way it is...I'm David Dane

So What If They Are Putting Stuff In The Food: Are You Going To Keep Eating It?

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178.8-pounds.

This is two days in a row below that 180-target.

I am scratching my head about something. When I initially hit the 180-pound target my Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale was showing me a Body Fat Index of around 21%-22%. Now the digits are ticking up at around 24%-24.5% Body Fat Index.

This means one thing, the higher percentage showing on the scale means that my body fat versus muscle has changed. I now have a higher body fat ratio than I initially had when I hit that target weight of 180-pounds.

This is happening inspite of my consuming more protein.

It means that I have to figure out how to get the muscle up, and still burn that fat.

Oh, and I have heard that I need to excercise more. Please, I don't want to hear that. If you worked the 14-18 hours a day like I do, and then tell me you can excercise. You can't, and I can't either. I consider it a miracle that I am not using drugs to keep myself going.

I have a friend that tells me all the time go excercise, tighten it up. Now that he is working so much he too is finding it hard to go excercise.

My Family Member Says I Am Looking Stretched Out
This morning I was talking to a close family member. This person was telling me how I am looking all stretched out and sagging. Here is what's worse, he said I am looking paunchy. What? Gee Thanks...

Could it be that I am approaching 50 years old? Could it be that I am not a spring-chicken anymore?

Now, if this person is telling me the truth, then all the people who said that I shouldn't lose more weight are lying to me.

Maybe when I get a different job, I will be able to engage in some regular excercise. It's winter outside, I am not going to walk and break my neck on some slick sidewalk. Recently we had as much as ten inches of snow here in Wheaton. There is no place to walk, and excercise without getting run over by a car, or falling on a slick sidewalk. I have already fallen a couple times this winter, and it knocked the wind out of me.

I was told do more push-ups, and face excercises. Huh, how about this person losing another 20-30-pounds?

I sware, I could go insane depending on people's opinions about losing weight. So can you.

Don't depend on anyone to be honest with you about your weight, and how you look.

I lost 60 pounds in just a little less than one year. This works out to about 1.2-pounds per week over a 52 week period. This is .16 pounds per day weight loss.

I had in my head a weight that I weighed years ago. When I left Fort Jackson in the summer of 1978, I was 160 pounds. For most of the three years that was what I weighed. I actually got down to 155-pounds, because I was in the hospital for a month with my mouth wired shut after facial reconstruction.

For years after that I was in the Military Reserve. I was around 170-189-pounds during that time. And the truth be known, I had a hard time keeping my weight at that 189-pounds.

I knew where I came from. For many people this has never been the case. Many people grow up being pudgy, and keep getting bigger. These people have no conception in their minds what they could look like. I have a family member like this.

My family member is over 150-pounds more than he should be. He makes up all kinds of excuses for staying that way. Well, it's not healthy, but I can't tell him anything. I don't even try.

Well How Do I Figure Out What Is The Truth?
When tryng to figure out what I was supposed to weigh, being objective was the only thing to do. Where did I find out what I should weigh?

I consulted various height and weight charts. When I was in the Military Reserve, the chart said that the minimum weight was 132-pounds, and the maximum weight was 189-pounds.

Now, for my age the military charts have 192-pounds as the maximum weight.

Note this; that the military actually allows for someone my size to go down as low as 132-pounds to be acceptable to their standards.

If this satisfies the Military, then who should I believe ultimately?

I used Height, Weight, and Body Type Charts
I have consulted charts that distribute weight based on the size of the body-frame. My frame is a small frame. I actually have very thin wrists, and a light frame.
Accordingly, I should be at around 160-pounds.

I have a friend that was teasing me. He said I would look like a gay guy being this thin.

I don't care. At 180-pounds, where I am now, I still have a 38 inch waist line. I need to get down a couple more inches on my waist. I would be happy with a 34 inch waist.

Will I get is tightened up? I don't know. I am not worried about that now.

Don't Go Out And Excercise Like A Mad Person To Lose Weight
I didn't lose 60-pounds exercising my fool head off.
Exercise shouldn't be used as a weight loss tool.
Exercise should be used to condition the muscles of the heart, the arms, legs, other muscle groups, and to build that muscle.
Exercise should be used to tone and firm.
Exercise should be used to get the fluids moving in the immune system.

Losing weight with extreme exercise is only asking for trouble. Many people are out of condition. Over exercise can actually damage the parts of the body; which many people do.

Unfortunately, many people who set out to lose weight, do it with too much exercise too soon. In the spring time look and see how many fat people will be jogging down the road with their fat jiggling. Look how many chubbies will be shaking down that sidewalk.

Then when the summer comes, look and see how many of those people will have quit. Most people don't know they should EAT LESS FOOD. Then they should ease into an excercise program that can be sustained.

Use exercise to condition and tone the body. Overstressing the body to lose weight is only going make it harder to get motivated to continue the exercise, and ultimately keep at a resonable weight loss program.

Mine In Not A Fad Diet
I was looking at a blog site written by a young man. He slams food companies for putting things in the food that provoke hunger. He blames the food companies for people being obese.

I am not siding with the food companies. I am writing this: So What? So What if we find out that the food companies are putting stuff in our food? Whoopie.

Are the food manufacturers going to stop making potato chips, Tostitos, Doritos, cup cakes, candy, etc.? Is McDonald's, Wendys, Burger King, going to stop serving Frech Fries, and hamburgers?

Do you want the state governments, and the federal government to levy heavy food taxes on food to discourage eating? They will.

Look at cigarettes: the government has levied huge taxes on cigarettes. People still buy cigarettes and smoke them.

Do you think if fast food goes up a few dollars because of taxes people will stop eating? Of course not. People still have to eat. The government officials know this.

No, You have to EAT LESS FOOD. You figure out where you have to be with your height and weight. You figure out how many calories you can comfortably eat and still get those pounds off.

Don't you depend on anyone to decide for you how to eat. I didn't.

If you want to lose 100-pounds, then you can lose 100-pounds. You can do it over a two year time period. You can safely lose about 1-pound per week, and still be healthy.

Take your weight, multiply that times 7-10 calories per pound. If you weigh 300 pounds; you can consume 2,800 to 3,000 calories and probably still lose weight.

As you lose weight, you can reduce down those total daily calories. Write down what you eat, and what you weigh.

Then keep at it. Keep at it. Keep at it. Mine is not a FAD DIET. I lost weight by EATING LESS FOOD. This isn't a fad diet.

Right now as I am writing this, the cats are clawing out my guts. Yes, I struggle with incredible hunger. I eat because I get hungry.

Don't Let The Monsters Bully You
You may have a different reason for eating.

When you make up your mind to lose weight, in the room with you may be those monsters. The Hunger Monster, the Neurotic Monster, the Comfort Monster, the Approval Monster, the Hurt Feelings Monster, may be in the room with you.

Don't let these monsters poke you in the side and tell you to eat. They will. They represent the excuses people use to eat.

My nemesis is the Hunger Monster. I am talking about painful hunger that hurts the sides of my stomach. I fight that thing, and I resist it as long as I can.

You'll have to fight your monsters too.

Bye for now...

It's Up To You And Me To Control What We Eat

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 179.4-pounds.
That's below 180-pounds for the day. Let's see what will happen tomorrow.

Someone Wrote Oprah Has A Thyroid Problem
Yesterday I wrote something about Oprah Winfrey. My point with Oprah Winfrey is that she has so much money she can't spend it all. Because of that she is above the rediculous laws that are being passed in states like Mississippi.
No one is going to walk up to Oprah and toss her out of a Mississippi McDonald's. No one is going to tell her to leave their restaurant. Why? Because she can buy everyone in the place, and the building too.

My point is this. Let's just say Joe Smoe has a problem with his thyroid. Because of that thyroid problem he has a few extra pounds. Now, the fat police will come to him and say "Papers, Medical card, are you authorized to eat here?"

Imagine if you have to fill out paper work to get authorization from the government to eat at McDonald's, Wendy's, or KFC. Just imagine people being so compliant.

Here will be the trade off. You get free Medical insurance if you comply with the new Fascist Government.

Oprah Has The Nerve To Support Someone Who Wants The Government To Control You
Oprah Winfrey with all her money has the gall to support someone like Barack Hussein Obama. Note the middle name Hussein as in named after Sadam Hussein. Here is a man that was raised believing that Islam is the way all men and woman should live. He changed from Islam to a very liberal "Christian" Church so he could become politcally correct to all the black Baptists, and religious people who wear the moniker "Christian."

Do you believe for five seconds that a man like Barack Hussein Obama has any appreciation for the system that made America great? He wants to control you. He will pick people who will bring into play Nazistic control. He was raised and bred as a Muslim, and that is his psychology. Go ahead Oprah, elect that man, and you'll be wearing a headscarf and long dress in the not so distant future. Not only that Oprah, but your TV shows and all your publicity, unless you tow the line dear, you'll be off the air.

America was founded on principals that depend on people being personally responsible for what they do. I don't mean the idea of following rules. I mean being able to learn to control our own behavior.

One of the behaviors that I keep stressing about in this blog is the EATING BEHAVIOR. Yes that behavior that goes along with putting food inside our mouths, chewing it, then swallowing it down.

I pointed out briefly yesterday that the food industry is making food very tasty. It's because they want to make money. That is what American's do best when they are allowed to do it unfettered by governmental control freaks.

It's because food is in such plentiful supply, and it is so tasty, we have a tough time resisting it. I know it's hard to do.

It's hard to say no to that extra cookie. It's hard to say no to that little chocolate candy. It's hard to say no to an extra half of that sandwich. It's hard to say no to putting sugar in your coffee. It's hard to say no to the extra donut left over in the box at the office.

It's hard to say no to food. It's hard. I know.

Unless you learn to look at your food as a fuel and nothing more, then you will succumb to it's charm. That's right food is fuel for you body.

It's been man's ingenuity that has made food so incredibly delicious. It's wonderful that God gave men this ability to take food and process it to make it so scrumptous.

As I sit here writing this blog I am fighting the cats that claw my stomach when I am hungry. All I consumed this morning was a can of Slim Fast (180 calories), and a granola bar (180 calories).

I am writing this blog so that maybe one person can read it and begin to realize that he/she can lose weight.

It is not anyone's job to make you eat less food. It's your job. I had to cut way, way, way back on my food consumption. It's rediculous the small portions of food that I eat so that I can lose more weight.

My target is to get down to 160-pounds. When I weighed myself this morning I stepped up under the 180-pound target. I had to cut back on the food to get there. It's not fun.

I have suffered trying to get off this poundage. It hasn't been easy.

Will You Get Locked Away?
Imagine this in the future. Some government official decides that there are too many fat people out there. This Fascist will reason that it's because of all the fast food out there. As a result this government official will put a 10 percent tax on the fast food.

That tax won't detour the people from eating at McDonald's because children will still scream at mommy and daddy to take them to McDonald's. And Mom and Dad being tired from working and paying all their money for taxes and fees, will comply with the screaming child and take it to the McDonald's.

Well, Junior will start getting fat because mommy doesn't have time to make a good meal. Mommy and Dad won't be allowed to tell their children what's good to eat because the government will tell them they can't. All Junior will have to do is make a telephone call to Child Services and a government bureaucrat will come get mommy and daddy.

People will keep getting fat. So next the government will start collecting people and locking them away in rooms where they will be fed small rations. They will be released brain dead to the meaning of life, and dead in their souls because of the abuse.

You get control of yourself. You eat half the hamburger at lunch. You eat half the French Fries at lunch. You eat less, not some government official.

No one is holding a gun to you and telling you to eat more food.

This is supposed to be a blog I dedicate to losing weight. I mean what I am writing about the government. But, that's isn't my main purpose in writing this blog.
I don't care about Oprah Winfrey.
I don't care about some government official keeping his job.
I care that you will find the heart to lose weight.
It's not easy.
And, I had to suck it up. It stinks.

I am encouraging you to fight "The Battle Of The Bulge."

Bye for now...

Will Oprah Winfrey Be Turned Back From KFC In Mississippi?

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mysical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 182.2-pounds.
This is the same weight as yesterday.

A couple days ago I posted something about a law being passed in Mississippi that will force restaraunts in Mississippi to turn out patrons if they are considered obese.

I have a question: Will this law apply to someone like Oprah Winfrey? You know who I am talking about. She is the talk show host who has darker skin than the rest of us. She is a billionaire many times over and she commands an army of people.

Yesterday I was watching some TV. I had the opportunity to because I was at a relative's home visiting. I noticed something; Oprah is getting fat again.

Yes, that sleek body that she managed to get to is now turning back to fat. What's worse than that, is she is really beginning to look old. Her eyes are bulging, and her face looks puffy.

Her suits, that are obviously tailored for her, are now beginning to get those tight little bulges that people get in their clothing that starts stretching over the rolls of fat.

All that said, when the laws for fat people are being passed to try to force people to lose weight, will that law apply to someone like Oprah Winfrey? Will she be turned back from the local Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)?

Will the manager of the restaraunt see her limosine pull up to the drive up, and now being lawfully deputized to play the fat-police, tell her "No, Oprah, you're too obese?"

The hypocrisy of the wealthy overwhelms me. And the ingnorance of the poor dumbfounds me.
I don't claim to be the all-knowing. However, I know that if there is money being passed around, suddenly people change their personality. People like Oprah won't have any problem getting all the food she wants to eat. Will she stand up for the people who can't?

Oprah Winfrey has more money than she has time to spend. Yet, she is suffering from many of the same things that all people struggle with. Overeating is obviously an issue for this woman. Even she has to have someone to follow her around so she won't overeat. And, it's not working anymore. It shows.

Who, has the right to discern what you and I are going to eat? That is if we have our brain power to function.

There are companies who spend all their wealth trying to figure out how to get us to eat more food. I purchased granola bars to snack on out on the road. These granola bars are coated with yogurt icing. They are delicious. It's hard to eat just one. Yet each one of those yogurt bars are 140 calories each. That's a lot of calories for a bar of food that's about 3/4 of an inch times 2 1/2 inches.

This is what we are up against when it comes to fighting the battle of the bulge. We have to learn to stop eating. I mean we have to stop eating even before we start to feel full.

And what about the food police, are we going to train a generation of people who are sensitive to the comments of a person hyper critical to skin color, but insensitive to someone becoming obese? Are these the people who will walk up to us in the restaraunt and snatch the food out of our mouths? Who has that right?

We live in the most prolific nation in the world. We need to say, "Thank you God." But, with that goes the responsibity to control ourselves. Just because I can grab that candy bar off the self, or walk in to any McDonald's, it doesn't mean I should eat everything in sight.

I resent someone thinking he or she has the right to control me. It's one thing if I break a law that is designed to protect others, it's a whole different world that micro-manages everything I personally do.

Yesterday I Did Some Mindless Eating
My family member has bags of snacks sitting around the house. There are cans of peanuts everywhere, bags of chips in the cupboard, and icecream in the freezer. Before I left the house, I stuck my hand inside the bag of chips and pulled out a fistful. After I ate those chips, I grabbed a fistful of peanuts. I forgot to write it down. This morning I remembered that I had done this mindless act and wrote it down.

This is what catches us up, we do things by habit, and without thought. I grabbed food because I was hungry. I didn't even think about it.

Be weary of letting down your guard like this.

Currently as I am typing this I am listening to Prison Planet. On this program there is someone talking about processed foods, and how children are getting addicted to them.
Sugar is one of the problem foods that really hooks children.

Parents need to learn to limit sugar in their children. It's not the government's job.

It's easy to blame the food manufacturers. The food manufacturers are trying to make money.

Let me tell you something. There are plenty of books out there telling us not to overeat. I don't care if it's processed foods, or other things that are natural. If I over consume the amount of food I need to survive, then I will get fat, and fatter.

The key to losing weight is to cut back on the food. I get hungry as can be too. I hate having to cut back on my food. I don't live on a farm, so I have to buy what's in the stores.

I have to cut back the food. I have to buy the supplements like vitamins. I have to explore to make my life better.

I lost sixty pounds eating processed foods. I just ate less of it. EAT LESS FOOD is what I keep writing to people. EAT LESS FOOD, and take your vitamins.

Also, be aware that with CAFTA, which is an international agreement, will come prescription Vitamins. That's right, you will be forced to go see a doctor so you can take something as simple as Vitamin C.

Finally, I am not siding with the food manufacturers that put stuff like MSG in our food. This product is purported to cause hunger. I am writing "wake up," you have to bite the bullet. You have to realize when you have had enough calories to live on. You have to monitor what goes into your mouth. If you do, then you will be better off.

I Warned You That The Government Will Pass Obesity Laws

Hello weight losing fans...

I warned you that the government will start to pass laws they think will influence people's behavior. In Mississippi a bill is being proposed that will force restaurants to refuse service to obese people.

This is an awful bill, and the government has no business doing this:
Mississippi House Bill 282

Please take the time to open this link and read this.

I don't care if someone is obese. The government has no right to force a restaurant to act as a policeman.

My opinion is many people are already prejudiced against obese people. Many people really believe that obese people are totally at fault for being obese.

Let's say this is true; It's not up to our government, which is supposed to be run by the people, to regulate obesity by forcing a public restaurant to refuse people food and service if people have the money to pay the tab.

Even Our Pet's Weight Goes Up And Down Each Day

Hello weight losing fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 181.4-pounds.

I didn't post yesterday because I was unable to get to a computer. I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 182-pounds for Sunday, February 3, 2008.

I have been away from home for the last four days. The days have been long at work. I made up my mind to eat a little something when I got hungry. This means that I was unable to stay at the 1,300 calories I originally decided to use as my daily calorie intake.

It's very hard to stay with 1,300 calories. I was getting very, very hungry, and my energy was draining away fast when I was hungry. I ate just so I could boost myself.

Now, I am very happy that I am sitting here back around 180-pounds or just a little over. It means I am stable at this weight. It means that I am OK eating just about 2000 calories a day and the weight remains stable.

I have been hoping to drop down to 160-pounds. I was actually heading down to the 170-pounds target. Only the work days are getting long again.
This means I am going to eat something.

From now on, I have made up my mind that I will carry my food with me. It's cheaper than eating at a restaurant.

Even My Pet-Parakeet's Weight Goes Up And Down
Yesterday I got home at around 9:30 PM, after being gone four days. I had to greet my little parakeet because he actually misses me when I am gone. When he gets upset I can tell it by the way he hunches over in the cage. The little guy has a personality.

When I left I made sure "Angel" had plenty of food and water. Well, he chowed down when I was gone. He must have been depressed.

Last night I removed him from his cage and put him on the kitchen scale. He weighed in at 38 grams. Which I was happy with because for a while there he wasn't eating right. He wasn't eating the seed I gave him and he lost a lot of weight.

This morning I put "Angel" back on the kitchen scale and he weighed 35 grams. This is a difference of 3 grams over night change.

Here is my point. Even my birds weight goes up and down some from day to day.

Like I said, in his case I am glad he has gained some weight. I was getting concerned there that he might starve to death.

So if you find your weight changes a little everyday, just remember that it depends on many things. It depends on the amount of fluids the body is retaining in the tissues. It depends on the amount of waste elimination. Which should be for the solids at least once for every meal consumed. For the liquids, it may be once every hour, especially if someone consumes liquids that are naturally a diuretic like sodas with caffeine, tea, and coffee. And, of course it will depend on the actual reality of are you consuming less food, so that fat metabolism can actually take place.

If you are trying to lose weight the weight trend should be down over the long term. Short bursts of up and down poundage can become frustrating. My weight can go up as high as six pounds in one day until I eliminate. (I won't get graphic)

Your weight will be like this too.

The Hunger And Frustration Is Worth It

Hello weight losing fans...

I posted my weight for today earlier. Since I have a little bit of time, I thought I might share something.

I travel a lot. I am away from my home more than I want to be. However, until I find a different employer, I have to live with this job.

That said. Being as I am out on the road so much I have to find all kinds of sources for food. It usually becomes very expensive going out on the road. I though that I would do myself a favor by bringing food with me. Since I don't have any refrigeration available I made something that can hold up to all kinds of weather; Peanut Butter, and Jelly Sandwiches.

Being is I am with people a lot out on the road I find that I have to eat where they eat, or go scrounge for food.

It's not easy to regulate the food intake when the days are long, and the hunger monster strikes.

I see all kinds of people who are preponderant. Especially the adult women. Phew...
These are ladies who could stand to shave forty pounds off their figures.

It's no different for me. I am constantly battling my temptation to over eat. As you can see even with my reduced calories the body stubbornly holds onto the pounds.

My Friend Tried Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, And Diet Pills
I have a friend who I served with in the military. He told me the other day that I am remarkable and persistant because I lost 60-pounds. He told me he tried Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, and even diet pills only to fail in his quest to drop off the pounds.

I don't know how true it is that I am remarkable, but I would say I am persistent. The only reason I am so persistent is because it was killing me slowly to be so heavy. I was falling apart. I had to lose weight.

Now that I have lost the weight and feel so much better, I don't want to regain it. I can't wait until I finally shed these last twenty pounds.

It went through more frustration than I care to think about getting off this weight. I gave up a lot of food that I could have continued to eat.

You will have to give up food, and put up with the hunger and frustration if you want to lose that weight.

I am writing to tell you, that it is well worth it.
