Hello Weight Losing Fans....

Today I stepped upon to the Digital Scale Weighing in at 180.6-lbs.

On Christmas Day I was at a family members home and was getting complimented how good I looked since I was last seen ...
I made the comment I want to lose more. I got a reaction that I shouldn't lose more.
Well that's flattering; it doesn't fit with the reality of what I should be for true health.

I still have belly fat.  Belly fat is an enemy of men in that it holds estrogen which is antagonistic to male testosterone. Men need testosterone at all ages. And belly blubber is the anti-testosterone maker. Belly fat is also an indicator of other health issues, like fatty liver, high sugar levels, high insulin levels, insulin resistance, and the list goes on . I have only just started correcting a huge mistake in that I let myself get here.

I have reached the target zone that I wrote about years ago. I wrote my target was 180-lbs. I thought that would be sufficient. I have been maintaining this for months now. I bounce up around 180 to 185. Only my waist line is not where it should be. My waist is still too large. My waist should be 1/2 my height in inches.  My waist should be 34-inches.

Some people think I will look way too skinny. Some think that I will look anemic.  Years ago when I reached 174-lbs people said my eyes looked sunken in my head. One women in particular, who meant well, said I was too thin. This same women is now an adult diabetic who uses insulin. Her adult child just had stomach surgery so she could lose 150-lbs. And her renter is a guy who needs to drop a hundred pounds. Around the house is cookies, candy,  bread, sweet cakes, soda, and other foods that add weight quickly. The whole family pounds down sweet sodas completely oblivious to damage being done.  My point is the opinions mean nothing and usually come from people who have no worldly-idea what it means to be a normal weight. And mind you, even if I manage to shave off more pounds does not mean I have hit the epitome of health.

I have reset my target weight zone. I pulled it off the military height and weight chart. It is pretty much the same across the board for other height-weight-charts.  I need to have a 34-inch waist. (this is 1/2 my height in inches) I am at 38-inches around my naval now. Every five pounds of lost fat is 1-inch of waist line. I need to drop 4-inches off the waist line. Therefore I must decrease 20-lbs or weigh in at 160-lbs.

Now will I look too thin..? Probably I will. I am not looking forward to it.  I mean it. For one thing I will need all new clothes. I haven't been that weight since I left the active United States Army.   But what I look like isn't the issue. It's what my health is that matters. Am I more healthy than I was;  yeah. ? Not healthy enough where I should be.

Am I going to race down to 160- lbs? No...! Emphatically No.. I still eat, and I do some exercise every day. I just took two days off for Christmas ,and it was so very hard to get up and exercise again. .. it's best to exercise a bit everyday without skipping. I am not talking about pounding workouts either.

So what does tomorrow bring. More progress I hope. Will it take me a long time to reach 160-lbs.  ? It will take me another year to reach that.    In the mean while, I probably won't be putting down my weight each day. It's tough writing on a tiny phone screen. .

That's all for now..  I'm David Dane

Going Back Down

Hello Weight Losing Fans...

Today I stepped up onto the Digital Scale weighing in a 182-pounds.

I took this photo today on my cellular phone.
These are 42-inch pants at the waist. My New waist is 38-inches around the naval area. Below that just above the hip bones, it is 37-inches.

I used to fill these pants out. Well, you can see the change....

Insulin Resistance Is The Problem

Hello Weight Losing Fans....

Today I stepped up onto the Scale weighing in at 199-Pounds.

That's up... However, my waist line is still shrinking. Go figure.

Anyway, I don't post a whole lot anymore mostly now because I just don't have the time.

I heard the news today another friend of mine is taking insulin because he has adult onset diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes must take insulin because they can not produce insulin.

However, most adults who get adult onset diabetes don't have a problem with not making enough insulin. The problem is they make too much insulin, and their bodies develop a resistance to it. When their is too much sugar in the system, the body excretes insulin. This insulin is supposed to scrub the body of the sugar. What it usually does is stores the excessive sugar as body fat. Too much sugar though also becomes a problem with the insulin levels being so high for so long, the body loses it's ability to process sugar. In essence the body becomes immune or resistant to it's own insulin. The result is a decease called adult onset diabetes.

There are other factors involved with this as well. A lack of minerals such as magnesium, vanadium, chromium, copper, iodine and nutrients like vitamin C, cause the body to not function as it should.

But, the biggest problem is too much insulin for too long in the system. The body can only store 4-grams of glucose at any one time (That is about a teaspoon of sugar). If there is excessive glucose the body must store it or excrete it. This is where insulin works. Insulin takes the sugar converts it to fat and stores it. The body also dumps sugar out of the body, and this is why sugar can be detected in the urine with a test strip.

These days when doctors see this in tests they react by prescribing medications. Instead they should say to the patient, it's time for you to give up sugar, and quit eating so many carbohydrates.
My friends blood sugar must have gotten so high the doctor gave him insulin. On his FACEBOOK page he was talking about passing out from an insulin overdose. Well, yeah dude you already have insulin in your system. Your problem isn't too much Insulin. Your problem is the body can't use what it has anymore.

Can it be fixed. Most of the times it can be fixed. But, it will take a strict diet of getting off sugar, and carbohydrates. It will also mean fasting between meals and letting the insulin levels drop back to normal.

I don't have time to go into more details about this. However, go look up insulin Resistance. Take a look at the videos I posted in the past.

If you are overweight, and you have body fat, then the odds are real good you are becoming a victim of insulin resistance...

Hello Weight Losing Fans...

Today I stepped up onto the scale weighing in at 198-pounds + ... Yep that's an increase. Last night I ate after 8-PM which is very unusual for me. So that was on the scale early this morning.

I had a talk with a friend yesterday. He seems to think that I am starving myself to death. This is because I have noticeably trimmed down. Now, I am not bent out of shape with this weight gain. He complains that he must lose weight .... Will he take the steps. ? NO.... I tell him that I eat a lot of butter. In fact I actually eat at least one stick a day. I also take the fat from my hamburgers and pour it into the vegetables. Fat suppresses appetite. It actually helps to control the amount of food someone wants to eat. It has for me. I am not actually losing the inches more than I am losing the pounds.

Now, would I like to get my weight down? Yeah... At what expense my actual muscle. And, I had written for years my frustration with never ending hunger. Butter, and fat help me want less. It still takes will power to leave sweets alone. However, I can eat a lot of fat, and then actually increase my fat and proteins. Which helps with hunger.

That's all for now.... I'm David Dane

Hello weight losing fans....

Today I stepped up on the scale weighing in at just over 196-pounds.  That is up... I am not worried. I have adapted a new way of looking at this. I am now down another inch on my waist line and on my chest. My sides where the rolls of fat hang are looking flatter. I am making progress. And, my neck has gone from 18-inches to 16-inches...

I started exercising again a couple weeks ago. I have added stuff in here and there. Yesterday I added in some grass routines because it was warm.
Let's see what it will do...

Hello Weight Losing Fans....

Today I stepped up onto the Scale weighing in at just over 194-Pounds.

I thought I would check out the blog and see where the stats were for readers. Wow, I am all the way down to zero...

That's Okay.. It's hard to post, and post on a blog everyday.

Well, I replaced my scale that broke with a new one... That new scale got fried with water over flow from the tub. Oops...

I purchased an inexpensive scale that only measures the weight.

So for now, it's no longer the magical mystical digital scale. It is just a scale.

Today I weighed in at just over 194-Pounds. Last May of 2016 I was 214-Pounds...
January of 2016 I was 225-Pounds.

I was down recently as low as 191.4-Pounds.

I have lost 5-inches off my stomach and off my chest.

I am back to doing some exercises each day with the hope of increasing the regimen.

I am not planning on writing on this everyday. A year ago I just ran out of things to write.

I will tell you this, I have changed my mind about some things. Weight doesn't matter near as much as the lose of inches on the waist and chest. I have lost many inches on both areas.

Now, does weight and inches correspond? Well, yeah.  Only that doesn't reflect the actual condition of the body, or it's real muscle structure verses the fat content. I haven't lost many pounds over this last year. I have lost many inches.  I am pretty sure I am holding on to much of my muscle mass.

In the beginning of my writing my blog I was losing weight because I restricted my calories. Well, now I don't restrict calories. I eat what I eat. Much of what I eat is FAT.

That's all for now...... !
