Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178.4-pounds.
That's down some.
I have been attempting to make a push for the illusive 160-pounds. I have gone so far as to reduce my carbohydrate intake down to almost none.
I have kept the caloric intake at around 1,500-calories. I have been practicing what is essentially called induction by the folks at Atkins.
Here is what I am finding. It doesn't matter. This morning I awoke and tested my urine. The test strip turned dark purple. This is supposed to mean that the body is stripping fat for it's glucose and kicking out the ketones as waste.
During the last few days, I have been turning the strips various forms of pink, to purple. Here I am sitting at the same weight.
Many years ago, I did this same thing and stripped sixty pounds of fat off my body. Now, I can't make a dent in my weight loss progression.
There isn't much I can do. I am at 1,500 calories a day. I am eating low carbohydrates. It's not working.
Oh well...
Bye for now....

My Weight Isn't Changing Much
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178.2-pounds.
That's down.
It's no where I want it to be.
I have been attempting to get my weight to change by reducing my carbohydrate intake. I have been eating more protein and fat. I have kept myself at 1,500 calories or so.
It hasn't been working.
I have read in the Doctor Atkins's Diet books that if someone can give up the sweets, then he / she will never crave them again. For some people that might be true. For me, it's not.
I still remember what a big cinnamon roll tastes like. I like Ice Cream, and chocolate cake. I still find myself wanting to eat a Snickers bar.
Honestly, I don't know what the Atkins's people are talking about. I did the Doctor Atkins's Diet years ago. I had success with it. I never lost my desire to chow down on something sweet. I never lost my desire to drink beer. Those desires never went away.
These last twenty pounds that I am attempting to lose are tough to lose. I am telling you it's not easy to get them off. My body just stays right here at around 180-pounds.
I have been at 1,500 calories a day for a long time. I have been consistent over this week. The scale moved down a few pounds, then it bounced back to almost 180-pounds.
So, for you that are struggling to get those last pounds off, don't lose heart. It's because I think this is a common issue with most people. The body gets stuck, and that's that.
Bye for now...

Back Under 180-Pounds, No Real Change In My Diet
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 177.6-pounds. That's down from yesterday. It's also only just 3.6-pounds over the record of 174-pounds.
Last year around this time I was over 180-pounds. I don't have the weight for last year, it's question marks. I looked at the days around the 25Th of February 2008, and found that I was up over 180-pounds.
I am surprised because this is a dramatic turn around. Only five days ago I was weighing in at 183.6-pounds. Hmmmm....?
Now, I haven't been doing anything different than I did except making darn sure I keep myself at my 1,500 calorie limit for the day. I have also made sure that I am avoiding as much sugar as I can. I have upped my ratio of protein to carbohydrates. I am eating more protein, and lowered those carbohydrates.
I am happy to see this downward trend. I am wondering how long it will last. I am wondering if I am now heading down toward 160-pounds.
We will see...
My Attempt To Quit Drinking Coffee
I have been a coffee drinker since I have been 19 years old. My addiction to coffee started when I joined the U.S. Army.
In the Mess Hall I frequented there was an open coffee fixture that could be accessed as many times as I wanted to walk back to it and fill my cup. I used to fill those white mugs time and time again, and then would add a thick layer of milk.
When I was in the field. Civilians call it camping. We called it field training. I remember getting the instant coffee packets in my rations kit. I would fill the tin metal field cup with water and then boil it over the stove in the tent. I then added my instant coffee. More often then not, it was way too strong. I drank it anyway.
At the Mess Tent, the coffee was brewed in a very large metal pot that was as tall as a kitchen trash can. It was just like in the movie "Mash." The mess cook would fill the pot with water and then dump the grounds of coffee directly into the coffee. The coffee was cooked not brewed.
This made a very strong brew. We would then ladle the liquid coffee off the top of the grounds that settled to the bottom of the pot.
That strong brew which was loaded with caffeine helped to hook me on coffee. Which is a habit I have had since.
After I left the military, and attended college, I used to sit in the local restaurant and drink pots of coffee late into the night.
My point is, I have been drinking coffee for years. I continued my addiction for caffeine throughout the day drinking Coke, and Diet Coke.
About three weeks ago, I decided to kick the Caffeine habit. I have been attempting to go cold turkey by just quiting the coffee, the Diet Coke, and Diet Dr. Peppers.
I am trying to give up my need for caffeine as a pick me up in the morning when I wake up. I am hoping that this is the reason I am seeing this progression in my weight going down. I am not sure that's it.
I haven't kicked caffeine completely because I still drink tea. I have cut the caffeine in half. It's a definite reduction in caffeine. I have been able to go days without my caffeine fix.
Maybe this is helping.
Bye for now...

Vitamin D3 A Necessary Supplement
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178.6-pounds.
Well, that's certainly better than it's been. Of course, like always, I'm not taking bets it will stay there.
I will put my weight in later today. < (For you checking in: I added in my weight later in the day.)
I have an article that I hope you will read. It's from the Daily Herald newspaper. I have been touting the benefits of Vitamin D3. I started using Vitamin D3 over six months ago, and it has done wonders for my knees. They were in such bad shape that I couldn't get down onto the ground anymore. I couldn't do squats. Since I took the Vitamin D3 I have lost the severe soreness in my knees, and I am able to do complete squats. My right shoulder was in a lot of pain too. It heeled up. If you have arthritis, this may be a help for you. I am attaching the article and you can click it to get to the Daily Herald page.

Sudden Decent Below 180-Pounds
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 179.6-pounds. That's back down under 180-pounds.
This time last year, 365 days ago, I was 181.8-pounds.
Well, I haven't posted since Friday when I had admitted to jumping back over 180-pounds.
So for the curious out there who might want to know how I have been doing over the weekend here are the numbers: On Saturday, February 21, 2009 I was 183.8-pounds. On Sunday, February 22, 2009 I was down at 182-pounds.
That happened then I woke up this morning back under 180-pounds.
I think my jump in weight was only because I was staying at a family members home. I was eating later in the day as a result. If I am not working I usually try to stop eating dinner, or anything else before 6 PM. Well, I was breaking my own rules.
There was one day in there where I really over ate and got up to 3,000 calories. I don't think that's what broke the camels back for my weight jump. Although if I had kept it up for a few more days then for sure I would be sitting up around 185-pounds. That's not what I want to see.
I am still at it fighting the "Battle of the Buldge." I am still dreaming of the day when I can get down to 160-pounds. I do wonder if I will make it. My body seems so happy at this 180-pounds.
I have found that I am able to stay here and still eat a few extra goodies once in a while.
I guess I am not so really determined to reach 160-pounds. Many, many people think I would look too skinny at 160-pounds. I don't know why. But, I think this has effected my thinking some.
Bye for now...

The U.S. Government Has Taken A Big Leap Forward Imposing Obecity Laws Today
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 179.8-pounds.
That's down from yesterday.
Well, that didn't take long. Phew...
Coming In The Next Two Years: FAT POLICE
Hey, when I was driving over here to write this blog post I heard our god, (and he does think he's god) Barack Hussein Obama saying that the government plan he's signing will help impose a plan to prevent preventable diseases.
What is this man God? He thinks he is. And here is how he plans on forcing you to prevent decease. Just like we have to take our cars to the pollution center to have our exhaust checked, the government will require by law that we Americans get a physical at least once a year. Yeah, that's right, they will make you get a physical.
With his new digitized medical records your doctor will have to put your height and weight into a government computer. That computer will be set to go off and highlight your name if it sees your height and weight don't meet the government specifications. If you don't meet the specifications, then you will be given notice by the government that you have so much time to get your weight down. You will be given a new date for a physical. If by that time you don't get your height and weight into specifications, then the government will force you to join a government approved service that will aid you to lose weight. I am not sure they won't force that right away.
If you can afford the plan, then you will pay for the government approved service out of your pocket. If you can't afford it then the government will pay for it. However, those money restrictions will be so tight, most everyone will pay for it out of their pockets.
Next, let's say you can't get the weight off. The government will force you onto medication that will make you lose weight. It doesn't matter if it makes you sick, they won't care.
Your records will be permanently marked that you violated government guidelines for obesity.
If in the future you develop illnesses that are considered related to obesity, then you will be blamed for the problem.
Get ready for the Obesity onslaught. You will be seeing all over the TV, and hearing on the radio the warnings about being obese.
Who's Lining Up For The Government Payout?
Now, who do you think is lining up for the government certification in the United States for Medicare rebates, and other government finance programs. You get one guess: That's right "Weight Watchers" is.
See: "Doctors Back Medicare Weight Watchers Rebate Scheme."
Yes, the same people who put over priced food in fancy packages, and sprinkle it with magical Pixie Dust, are asking for medicare to reimburse fat people for going to their program. Not only is this so, but soon they will be working for that mandatory part of the government fat prevention program. And you thought "Weight Watchers" cared so much for you.
It doesn't matter that Weight Watchers is as useless as tits on a bull. No, it doesn't matter that time after time I have run into people who have failed with the "Weight Watchers" program. My mother is one of them, my cousins too. Nope, Weight Watchers is big enough and powerful enough to lobby the government to have their way.
I hate the weight watchers mentality. These people seem like zombies, and they defend weight watchers so profusely. These are people who really believe that weight watchers has cornered the market on food, and nutrition. It doesn't matter that people can't figure out how to count calories, and carbs for themselves, like I do. Yes, I now count carbohydrates vs my other food, such as proteins. I added it to my program recently.
Recently I haven't felt like writing a whole lot about anything because most people can go all over the Internet, and get a mountain of information about weight losing. Nothing I am writing is really so profound.
This is though: The government wants your money. They don't care if you are obese, they see a money making machine in the fat people. They see taxes and fines that they can levy against you.
So, you think I am wrong? You think I am out of my mind?
Read this: Obesity Fines
Here is the funniest part about this. The people, 99 % of the blacks in America, who voted Barack Hussein Obama into office, will be the first people he harasses with his new laws. In the black population the obesity epidemic is far worse than in the Caucasian population. The very people who thought they would get free gasoline, rent, and homes will be in for a rude awakening as the Marxist Barack Hussein Obama levels his sights on the very people who voted for him.
See: Health Before Liberty
He's in power now, and he has a compliant Democratic Congress, and house. They will move quickly to enact laws that will keep them in power forever. That's right, Barack Obama wants to stay in the Presidency for as long as he can. The only one who can remove him from office will be an act of God himself.
Forget term limits on the Presidency, the congress will vote them out. Forget, the Constitution of the United States, Barack Obama said that the founding fathers lacked insight into the future. So what do you think is going to happen?
My guess is you fatties out there in the United States are in for a shock. Yep, the warnings have been going out for years now. Has anyone noticed? Has anyone taken heed? NO, they haven't.
Let me give you a suggestion: "Eat Less Food." If you don't, then the government will make you.
Their plan is to make you a criminal. That's right, you'll be a criminal for being obese.
Expect suicide rates to increase as a result
For most people, being obese is a deeply emotional issue. It's hard to deal with the stigmatising that is imposed on obese people.
The government bureaucrats don't care if you are suffering emotionally, they will coldly tell you lose weight. Mean while in the Congress you will see people who are fat, and getting fatter. This is because these people are above the law.
You will see, as I see police who are fat. Yet, these will be the people who will get to arrest you and throw us into a fat camp.
As a result of increased pressure from a government that ultimately has been taken over by a bunch of psychopaths, fat people will suffer. They are the governments excuse for raising money. As a result of being the targets of a government crack down, I am predicting, these poor fat people will kill themselves.
They won't be able to absorb the added hype and stigmatising the News Media with it's brainless socialist beauty queens will impose over the airwaves. They won't be able to handle the fines, and the costs that will be imposed on them. They will resort to self inflicted suicide.
Don't think the government doesn't want that either. Remember something our government has been taken over by people who ultimately want control over peoples lives. Just look as Barack Hussein Obama, he absolutely loves the adoring fans he has. And he's real good at deflecting blame for things. The blacks won't know what hit them.
You think I am kidding? George Bush Redefines Conservative
I don't want to see these events take place. However, we are headed in that direction. New York has already put and 18 % tax on sodas, and sweet drinks.
Here is what's really sad, the skinny people. The people who deem themselves more normal than you and I, they want the "Fat Tax." There are a lot of people out there who view you and I the odd balls of society. We are the misfits because we're fat.
Read and watch this : "Selling the New York Obesity Tax."
Now, are you are gullible enough to buy the lies of this fascist? It seems that most of New York is. When are people going to stand up to these people? Will you?
Write a letter to your editor. Write a letter to the Congress. Tell them mind there own business. I fear it's too late for that.
We are the Preponderants. We have a big red target on our fat bodies. We aren't well liked by many. I am so sorry to write that.
So, just in case you think I am crazy, read this final article in the Washington Post: What the candidates had to say about childhood obesity.
The truth is, these government bureaucrats only want to micromanage your life, and mine.
Bye for now...
And that's the way it is...I'm David Dane

Weights Decending
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 181-pounds.
That's down from yesterday.
OK, so I am back over 180-pounds. I said before I wasn't going to bet on me staying under 180-pounds. When I get around certain people, they mess me up. Oh well...
Bye for now...

Today Is Better Than Last Year
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178-pounds.
On this day one year ago, February 13, 2008, I was 182.6-pounds. Yep, it's just like last year the weight goes up, and the weight goes down.
So far, I have been able to keep it just under 180-pounds. I'd like to be down at 170-pounds and hovering around there. Argh... it's a challenge for sure.
Tomorrow I am supposed to go to my cousin's for the night. We are planning on taking her son to the lake to ice fish. Well, that's what we planned. Right now, I don't think there's that much ice anymore since we had a 62 degree Fahrenheit day. Every day since then the temperature has been over the melting point of ice.
My point is this, I call her my "Evil Cousin." Not because she's evil, but because she is always pushing the cake and candy on me. She won't take no for an answer when I tell her I don't want the cake. Of course, I really want the cake. She only weakens my resolve, and puts the temptations in my way.
So, today is probably my last post for the next few days. So sorry, you'll just have to do without my deep insights into human psychology, my deep ruminations, my incredible resolve, etc., etc..
Oh, I make myself laugh.
We'll see how well I do up at my "Evil Cousins."

Weights Up Some
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178.8-pounds.
That's up from yesterday.
It's only 0.2-pounds higher than this day February 11, 2008, one year ago when I was 178.6-pounds.
That's not bad. I wish I had been going down some more. What am I going to do?

Wooo Hooo, I Beat Last Years Numbers
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 176.6-pounds.
That's down from yesterday.
On this day February 10, 2008, one year ago, I was 177.2 pounds.
Woo Hoooo... that beats last years number.
How about that? I have managed to hang in their for over one year, and remained stable.
How? It's because I watch what I eat. It's because every single day I weigh myself. I never take for granted that I will be able to keep my weight on track just weighing in once a week.
I am a nut about what I eat, and write it down.
This last Sunday I went to my cousins. She insisted I eat what she made. She insisted I eat some of her cake. I had no way of calculating the calories. I estimated the portions, and the ingredients, and wrote down what I thought I was eating.
The next day I adjusted for my eating so much the day before. I cut out some calories.
This is how I have maintained for the last year.
Oh, I have had my days when I went over board. As you can see, I have recovered.
Bye for now...

New Diet, Get Gastroenteritis
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 176-pounds.
That's down from yesterday.
On this day February 4, 2008 one year ago, I was 181.4-pounds.
I am not banking on this weight staying here at 176-pounds. I didn't get to this weight because of my tremendous self discipline. I got gastroenteritis commonly called the stomach-flu.
Because of that I went for over 24 hours without consuming any solid food.
Here is a thought, if you want to lose weigh suddenly find somebody with gastroenteritis, and get them to kiss you. Then you'll get sick like I did, and lose weight. Then we can call it the "Gastroenteritis Diet."
Naw, I was miserable for the last two and a half days. Fortunately so far no other viruses have jumped on board and added to my complications.
So there we have it. I am down four pounds in about two days time. It's not something I recommend doing. It has put me 2-pounds over my record weight of 174-pounds.
Let's Move To Something More Fun
I have a friend who made a cute video. His took the Lord's Prayer and put some new words to it and some pictures that we preponderants can appreciate.
If you click on the video I have attached I think you might get a kick out of it.
OH MY THAT PIE LOOKED SO GOOD.
I have been meaning to put this into one of my blogs since I saw it. Have fun with it.
Bye for now...

I Have The Stomach Flu, And The Weight Is Down
Hello weight losing fans...
Today I stepped up onto the Magical-Mystical-Digital-Scale weighing in at 178-pounds.
Right now I am actually less than that. I haven't eaten anything in over 24 hours. I have the stomach-flu and the food hasn't been staying where it should.
I have had all of the symptoms of the stomach-flu. There is one I didn't expect. I have lost my appetite. That's right, I am not hungry, and I don't feel like eating anything.
Yesterday I wasn't hungry in the morning when I woke up. I didn't really want to eat anything because I had spend part of the early morning hours in the bathroom. You know what was happening of course. Well, I drank down four scoops of protein powder because I figured I should eat something before I go to work. I haven't had any food since.
I got home from work last night, went to bed, and spent the rest of my time sleeping and racing to the bathroom.
I got up and came to blog. I am going back to bed when I get home. This isn't one of those twenty four hour bugs.
Oh by the way, on this day one year ago, I was 181.4-pounds. I am holding the line. In this case I had no real choice. I can't say that this change in my weight is because of my ability to avoid food. It's only because I am sick.
On all the days that I haven't been posting, I came in at 180-pounds even up each morning. Believe it, or not.
